Vote City Council Bob Nishimura Diamond Bar

I believe that I am the best candidate who will advocate for neighborhood watch, says Bob Nishimura.

I was retired due to injuries I sustained on-duty during a gun battle with a drug dealer.  I worked on a special enforcement team that addressed specific problems in my city including thefts, drugs, burglaries, and vice.

I also worked as a watch commander for a small LA County city with a very high crime rate.

I have maintained my peace officer certification as a level 1 reserve police officer and I work about one shift a week.  Since I am fully certified I patrol on my own and for the past nine years straight I have made the most DUI arrests out of all officers at my agency.

In January I stopped and conducted a stop on a suspicious person out at night, and identified him.  As it turns out, that pedestrian had committed a double homicide 5 days prior.

Last fall I conducted a traffic stop that yielded two subjects from out of state who had just purchased a quantity of PCP for future sales.

In Diamond Bar I work closely with our special assignment deputies.  In the past year I have identified a doorstep package thief and I identified a house in my neighborhood where hand to hand narcotics transactions were occurring.

I am one of the candidates running for two seats on the Diamond Bar City Council this November.  Incumbent Council Member Jack Tanaka is going to retire.  Council Member Jack Tanaka supports me, I am the only candidate that Jack is supporting.

As you know, for many years I have been very active in the youth sports arena being the past president of Diamond Bar Girls Softball and the current treasurer.  I have been endorsed by Scott Flores and Sharon Ellis.  (Diamond Bar Girls Softball President and Diamond Bar AYSO President)

I petitioned and successfully advocated against the City Council's fee ordinance a few years ago when they were going to charge our youth groups for use of the fields and lights.  I also changed City policy when the parks department wouldn't let Diamond Bar based teams reserve the Summit Ridge park fields.  As a current Planning Commissioner I asked the tough questions that led to the disapproval of a cell tower at Maple Hill Park.

I have attached the candidate statement that will appear in the voting booklet, a link to my website, and a mailer that will be going out soon.

For my campaign I am using the following contact information:
